Vikings @ 49ers!! NSS Preview

Vikings @ 49ers!!

Jimmy Garoppolo and Mike Shanahan went from facing each other in a Super Bowl to chasing one together. 49ers had a bye last week and are now playing the Minnesota Vikings in their home field. The Vikings survive the Saints thanks to a great performance by Drew Brees in stopping Taysom Hill, who was singlehandedly bringing the team back. So here we are.

Jimmy G 3,978 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions vs Kirk Cousins 3,603 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. I may sound like of a bit of hater but Cousins is overrated and at the end of the Jimmy G is overhype and both QBs should be grateful for their defense stepping up when it counts the most.

Dalvin Cook has been a monster for the Vikings with 1,135 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. . The Vikings were the 4th best rushing team in the regular season averaging 136 per game. Last week in the week vs the Saints they got exactly that number, more than likely the run will be a big factor for the 49ers this week. While the 49ers will be getting some key players back in the lineup that should help when it comes to containing the run.

Shanahan is the greatest offensive weapon that a team could ask for. He has a way to no matter how bad of game Jimmy G is having be able to turn it around giving easy looks to build his confidence for a big play. Say what you want to say but the 49ers earned their number 1 seed and now have a chance to show it.

Pick: 49ers.

I picked against the Vikings last week and I am doing it again this week.

NSS NFC Wild Card: Vikings @ Saints

NSS NFC Wild Card: Vikings @ Saints

This may be the easiest Wild Card pregame that I have ever done.  No Minnesota miracle should be happening, this game should be about pure revenge for the Saints.  PURE REVENGE FOR THE SAINTS.  The Saints pregame hype video should be the “Miracle” play to make the Saints come out with a fresh dose of anger.

Drew Brees will be looking for Michael Thomas to keep on breaking records.  Kirk Cousins will keep proving that he wasn’t worth the contract.  The genius of Sean Payton will be fully on display for this game.  Taysom Hill will represent Idaho in the wild card game.  The Saints are playing at home, in theory, even starting Bridgewater the Saints should still be the favorite.

Pardon my “shade” against the Vikings but, personally, they don’t seem to have a winning shot.  They are not a better team than last year even with Dalvin Cook at 100% and truly carrying the offense.  Cook leads in rushing and is the 2nd leader in receiving yards for the Vikings behind Stefon Diggs.  At the end of the day the Vikings don’t trust Kirk Cousins.

Cousins Stats 2019 in the last 5 years or since he became a full time starter:

  • 3,603 Yards are the lowest in his last 5 years.
  • 26 Touchdowns, 2nd lowest in his last 5 years.
  • 6 interceptions, sounds great, Cousins has only attempted 444 passes, which is the lowest in his last 5 years.

Cousins is not the Vikings primary weapon nor option; therefore the Saints only have to focus on containing Cook.

On the other side of the ball, Brees in 11 games has 2,979 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and only thrown 4 interceptions.  The Saints are one of the best home teams in the league and fueled by revenge from last year, this game should be a BREEze.

Pick: Saints.

NSS NFL Mark Your Calendar!! The Playoffs Are Here!! 1st Impressions

The NFL playoffs are officially here!!! The stage and teams are set for the AFC and NFC wild card games.  Here are some 1st impressions of the upcoming games.  It is way too early to make a clear pick for most of this games.  In my opinion the only sure game is  the Saints beating the Vikings #MinnessotaMiracleNotAgain.

AFC 1st Bye Week: Ravens & Chiefs

NFC 1st Bye Week: 49ers & Packers

AFC Wild Card – Saturday January 4th, 2019

Bills (10-6) @ Texans (10-6) – This will go really good or really bad!!

The Texans lose to the Broncos stands out to me on a 1st impression base.  Also the Bills 2 losses to the Patriots really stands out, it just doesn’t put much confidence in them.  This should be an exciting game due to the fact that both of this teams can either play top football but also stink it up the whole stadium.

Pick:  Not yet.

Titans (9-7) @ Patriots (12-4) – The Titans can go wild vs the Patriots

The easy pick here is picking the Patriots.  But Ryan Tannerhill and Derrick Henry are extreme wild cards.  Lastly I have a theory about Tom Brady and the Patriots, maybe the Titans could really help me out with some Nonsense.

NFC Wild Card – Sunday January 5th, 2019

Vikings (10-6) @ Saints (13-3) – Minnesota Miracle Rematch

Automatically the “Minnesota Miracle” comes to mind regarding this matchup.  Case Keenum is no longer a Viking and it can be argued that the offense was running better under him rather than Kirk Cousins.

 Pick: Saints 100%

Seahawks (11-5) @ Eagles (9-7) – Seahawks Vs Eagles

At this time, all I can think about is the Seahawks losing to the 49ers, Lynch not going for it and just how everything about went down really fast for the Seahawks.  The Eagles just picked up a brand new class of wide receivers still yet to be known, but who cares, the Cowboys didn’t make the playoffs.

Pick: not yet. but probably Seahawks.
