NSS Blazers: Win Some, Lose More SMH???????????

NSS Blazers: Win Some, Lose More SMH???????????

It almost looked like the Portland Trail Blazers had it figure it out, they were winning.  They improve their home record to a winning one, they were getting closer to an overall 500 record.  They moved up in the rankings and then they follow with that a 5 game losing streak.  At this point in time, do the Blazers know what’s going on with the Blazers??

My frustrations with the Blazers has almost been getting greater than the Jazz.  The Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum is blazing up in uncontainable flames.  The balance that used to be between them, is no longer there and on some nights, we all wondered if Carmelo Anthony should actually be the number 1 options.

I never minded when Hassan Whiteside was taking the blame for their losing early in the season.  Mostly because, in theory or by now, they should have figure it out and Whiteside was only serving as a temporary escape goat to hide all the deeper issues.  But no resolution has come and everybody is being force to acknowledge that Dame, CJ and the organization are not working out.

On top of everything else, the rumors of a trade between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Blazers seem to be gaining traction.  And honestly, I am all for it and they should make it happen ASAP.  Is not working and it makes it even worse when the Blazers go on a winning streak and then follow that by a longer losing streak.

In regards of the trade rumors listen to all calls for every player on the team.  Personally, keeping Dame will be ideal, mostly for his closing out OKC and the hope that he could do it again.  If the hype (and potential) behind Anfernee Simons is real, than he should have no problems taking over CJ’s minutes.  While at it find any deals for Kent Bazemore and Mario Hezonja, just saying while making trades and changes.

If anybody being keeping up with my NBA emotional state of mind; the happiness that was brought to me by the Jazz acquiring Jordan Clarkson and improving in all areas; it was all destroyed by the Blazers up and down weeks.

Thank You for Reading!!Comment Some Nonsense!!

What do you guys think about the Blazers? Can they be fixed? Who Do You Keep?? CJ Or Dame??

Still waiting for the Jason Garrett (getting fire) news!!

Still waiting for the Jason Garrett (getting fire) news!!

The NFL regular season is officially over so for the teams that are not moving on is officially “firing season”.  Job stability is not always easy to find in the NFL and whether coaches or players nothing is secured.  So let’s get to the point, everybody is still waiting for any Jason Garrett news.  Its been almost 24 hours, what in the Nonsense is going on?

Redskins fired Jay Gruden earlier in the season; fire team president Bruce Allen and are set to hired Ron Rivera.

Still no Jason Garrett news.

Giants fire coach Pat Shurmur and are looking at Baylor’s coach Matt Rhule.  Also reports are saying they are requesting to interview Josh McDaniels from the Patriots.

Still no Jason Garrett news.

Brows fire Freddie Kitchens because is the Browns.

Still no Jason Garrett news.

Ps I am not for or against Jason Garrett losing his job.

What I am for is that is never fun being in a limbo status at work

NSS NBA Christmas Day Reaction!! 2-3 On Picks!!

NSS NBA Christmas Day Reaction!! 2-3 Smh!!

(Belated) Merry Christmas to all and I hope you all had an amazing Christmas.  Personally, I had a pretty good Christmas, I stayed home, mother in law cooked some turkey.  I spent my day playing with my love ones, watching basketball, eating and cleaning the house, also gift wise I received an XBOX.  At this point in time I am still waiting on NBA 2k20 to download but feel free to add me “IMakeNonsense”.

So I watched every NBA game, some games did capture my attention more than others, off course.  I went 2-3 on picks and I don’t feel too bad about it, a little disappointed in the Lakers but that’s nothing new.  Here is my quick reaction to the Christmas game on somethings that caught my eye from the games.

Ps. The anybody else missed Christmas theme uniforms? Felt like that it was something nice but I guess the revenue doesn’t cover the cost of making everybody a new jersey when not all will make a profit.

Let’s move on to the games:

Celtics beat the Raptors – Kemba Walker & Jaylen Brown Five 3 Each. 1-0.

I may not be as big of a fan of a “Celtics Fan” as Michael B. but watching Kemba Walker have so much playing for the Celtics is almost contagious.  Is there another player in the NBA that seem to play with the joy and of Walker? He just seems like he really is enjoying himself and he can do nothing wrong.  Seriously he could do nothing wrong, even when he was outscored by Tacko Fall.  That was like if he knew that Fall was going to play that game and just want it to give all the shine and sprinkle to Fall.  Is amazing how much fun Walker is having and I am hoping he can turn that fall into more wins and success.

In respect of the game, I thought it was going to be a closer game, specially in the 1st couple mins the Raptors starting the game 10-0 run.  Lowry and the guys just seem to be focus on their 1st ever Christmas game which also happen to at home.  Also, once again, did not see any sign of Drake.  The Celtics won their 4th straight game beating the Raptors for a 2nd time this season.  We will see if Drake shows up or if the Raptors can even out the season series vs the Celtics.

Embiid shines against the Bucks for the 76ers 3rd straight win. 1-1

I was pulling for the Bucks, not because they are the East number 1 seed but because I don’t believe in the 76ers coming out of the East.  This game doesn’t really move the meter for on the 76ers hype, in my opinion, they will be out coached and outplayed in the playoffs.  And honestly this game didn’t catch much of my attention, I just kept expecting that the 76ers will fall apart like their last 2 home games.  Embiid didn’t let that happen and really took the Giannis head on.  Embiid ended the game with 31 pts, 3-6 on 3pt and 11 reb while holding Giannis to 18 pts on 8-27 shooting, that included an 0-7 night from 3pt.

While I want it to the Bucks to win, Middleton seem to have shown up to play big time, congratulations to him.  This game also show Giannis struggling from the 3pt which should be a concern for the Bucks, which they need to start planning for a plan B, because they just cant let Giannis go 0-7 without implementing some type of back up or a limit of how many shots he can take.

The 76ers winning this game makes the season series interesting, especially if the Bucks keep leading the East.  The 76ers and Bucks will face 3 more times and if you ask me, I’ll probably be picking the Bucks again.

Rockets get “stunned” by Warriors.  No, it wasn’t Harden’s fault. 2-1

So I have re-renter the twitter world (please add @FrancisTalksNSS).  And honestly, usually I am just there for the comments and memes but I couldn’t help “tweeting” about watching the defense on Russell Westbrook. Seriously

Did anybody else notice how the Warriors counter the Rockets Harden attack and only shoot 3 offense?  It went something like this:

Step 1: Double team James Harden as soon as he crossed the half-court,

Step 1.5 – ideally whoever is guarding Russell Westbrook or whoever is guarding switch out to cover anybody but Westbrook. Truly the point is assured the only open passing lane is to Russell Westbrook.

(if step 1 / 1.5 have been done correctly then proceed to step 2)

Step 2: Once Westbrook catches the pass from Harden, VERY IMPORTANT: Step away and let him shoot

Step 3: Rebound the ball and proceed with offense possession

Step 4: Repeat.

Note: if Harden is in the bench, man to man defense, start a step 2 once Westbrook receives a pass.

Harden ended the game with 24 pts, 6 reb, 11 ast and mostly taking all the blame and hate for the Rockets losing the game.  Westbrook (and Mike D’Antoni) should take some responsibility for this game.  The Warriors weren’t hiding their defense scheme by some type of magic it was simple, wait for Harden to dribble up the court and double him after he past the half court line.  Westbrook scored 30 pts on 11-32 and a huge 0-8 from the 3pt line.

D’Antoni could have made a simple adjustment to let Westbrook bring the ball down and have Harden go to the baseline or maybe go to the corner or do something different, anything than just wait to get double at half court, passed it to Westbrook, righteously the only open player and watch him brick another 3.  This game wasn’t on Harden, it was on Westbrook and D’Antoni.  And maybe a bit on McLemore going 2-9, when has he ever been a shooter?

Just because a player get sign to the Houston Rockets doesn’t make him an automatic 3pt sniper.

I picked the Warriors because believe it or not, they have a good team full no name guys that are making speedy process.  Also the more games that De’Angelo Russell and Draymond Green play together the more they’ll be jelling.  The Warriors are not the worse team in the West.

Clippers beat the Lakers again and it doesn’t matter because Kawhi said so. 2-2

Kawhi Leonard is either a savage or maybe he is really funny and just nobody else gets it.  Kawhi said the game didn’t matter because it was just a regular season, which he is not wrong and somewhat right.  Also his comment about Patrick Beverly just running around it was almost out of Netflix especial.  As usual Kawhi led his team in the game that count the most with 31 pts, 12 reb, 4 ast. Patrick Beverly gets the ball game for his defensive play on LeBron James on the last possession.

Speaking of the Lakers’ last possession was the plan really was just to run the clock and for LeBron to just take a 3? Frank Vogel out there getting pay a bunch of money to go tell LeBron “Hey man, run the clock and pull for the 3” no screens no running just go out there and jack up a 3 to tie the game? Okay, I guess. I don’t get it.

Ps I am glad the Clippers got the win, I personally still think the Lakers still have the better team.  Also can you imagine the running reports if the Clippers had loss this game? How much blame George would have taken on his disappearing act? I mean he made a couple shots but was he much of a difference maker? Maybe? Maybe not? at the end of the day, imo, the Clippers are the Raptors from last year but in the West.  PG is Lowry and Lou Williams is VanVleet and the Clippers are going to run with the same formula hoping to win a championship.

Pelicans beat the Nuggets at home 112-100. 2-3.

Latwand was right.  Check out his youtube channel and follow him on social media.  He was the only person who confidently picked the Pelicans.  Congratulations!! He did when on to say “F*ck Bron, and Harden. BI (Brandon Ingram) finna get this win and show them bums how its done.” Nonetheless Latwand was right.  BI ended with 31 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast and all the sudden the Pelicans are on a 2 game winning streak.

NSS Pelicans & Wolves pulling the plug is a win-win for the NBA and the (some) fans

NSS Pelicans & Wolves pulling the plug is a win-win for the NBA and the (some) fans.

The Wolves and the Pelicans aren’t really making much positive noise in the NBA despite their talent pool.  The Pelicans win in the last 10 games was to the Warriors, while the Wolves are on a 10 game losing streak.  On paper both teams have a capable roster and coaches with experience that should be giving both of this team a lot more wins.  But that’s not the case, the issues are deeper and more complex.

So for both of this teams, the only thing anybody truly knows is that is not working.  And is not like the Wolves and Pelicans are the only teams, every year there is a team or 2 that just under construction the whole season before it blows it all up.  But why wait to the trade deadline, make a deal now, pull the plug.  Seriously, every year a team waits to the last minute waiting for a better deal and in more cases than it others it doesn’t really come. So dear Wolves & Pelicans pull the plug, stop the nonsense.

Pelicans

7-23 screams pull the plug and reset then just do it for fun.  Also teams are always a lot “fun-er” and better to watch after they revamped everything.  They let some guys go and bring in some new guys to try them out for next year.  So here are some ideas of ways that the Pelicans can break down.

Buyout/ trade

JJ Redick – the Pelicans have to know that JJ has a playoff streak that as off right now is not looking very well.  So let JJ go and be free to resign back with the 76ers or live the easy live catching corner passes for LeBron with the Lakers.  JJ is averaging 15.9 Ppg for the Pelicans, for being one of the best shooters in the league he deserves better.

Jrue Holiday – needs to ask to be swapped for Eric Bledsoe.  Think about it, they make about the same and the Bucks really need to set the best players that they can around Giannis to keep him from leaving to the Warriors.

Lonzo Ball – The Pelicans need to take any advantage or sign of a market for Lonzo before is too late.

Derick Favors/ Role Players – all other players outside of Ingram and Zion are all expendable.

Keep/ Develop

Brandon Ingram – keep his breakout season going, keep feeding him the ball

New Guys/ G-League

Brandone Francis – 6’5 Guard/ Forward out of Texas Tech.  Defensive minded player with a respectable 3 point shot to eat up guard/forward minutes.  Also, it starts surrounding Zion with a lot younger guys that can play defense and be set for kick out.

Kyle Guy – 6’1 Guard University of Virginia.  Averaging 22.3 Points per game.  Guy can take all the shots that JJ would be leaving behind.

Note

Maybe the reason why the Pelicans don’t really care about blowing up the whole squad because regardless of how good the team looks on paper they are not affecting the win column.  Keeping the Pelicans on set for a high draft pick to pair up with Zion next season.

Wolves

The Wolvers are, unfortunately, the perfect storm.  The Andrew Wiggins project never worked out. Karl Anthony Towns is only talked about being matched up against Joel Embiid.  Seriously, both of this players are great and their peak is still pretty high but it doesn’t seem like it would ever happen in Minnesota.  So pull the plug and reset, stop this nonsense

Buyout/ trade

KAT – the market for KAT is very high, a trade is the attractive option because they’ll get something after he leaves.  Seriously, what incentive (other than money) can the Wolves give KAT to have him stay? If anything or anybody should be coming in it should be the ghost of Kevin Love and Kevin Garnett.

Andrew Wiggins – in my opinion, Wiggins should be added to the list of greatest bust in the NBA who can average 25 points per game but not win games.  Wiggins’ game is too subtle and lacks intensity to take over any game.

Unfortunately the 2 guys that the Wolves want to give the keys to the city don’t make for a winning team.

Make them available and take best offer, both KAT and Wiggins’ can actually give the Wolves a nice return.

NSS NFL Dec. 21st Saturday Matchups!! Preview & Picks!!

NSS NFL Dec. 21st Saturday Matchups!! Preview & Picks!!

Texans @ Buccaneers:

Deshaun Watson and the Texans path to the playoffs is not set fully set in stone and there is still a small window for the Titans to get in.  not to bring up bad times/ weeks for the Texans but whatever happen against the Broncos can’t happen again.  The true focus for the Texans is actually weeks 17 when they host the Titans.

How crazy is that Jameis Winston has 30 Touchdowns, 4,573 yards and 24 interceptions.  Is like he is feeding both the offense and the defense every game.  The defense for the Buccaneers have been excellent, just imagine their mentality every time Winston does something good, they may just be prepping for him to do something bad just as well.  Winston could be the NFL’s most complicated case.

Texans need the win against a Buccaneers’ team on a 4-game winning streak working on a last-minute playoff run.

Nonsense Stats

DeAndre Hopkins

  • At 99 Receptions, 2nd in the NFL
  • One more receptions Means
    • Consecutive seasons with 100+ receptions
    • 3rd consecutive season with 1,000+ Receiving yards
  • Only 3 Touchdowns away from having 3 consecutive seasons with 10+ receiving touchdowns.

Pick: Texans.

Bills @ Patriots

This game seems to be easily disregarded since both teams are already playoff bound, but it shouldn’t be that way.  The Patriots (at the moment) have the higher seed but it if the Bills can pull off the win, just imagine the possibilities.  The Bills have proven to have a top defense that should not be taking lightly.  While on the other side every week there is more and more questions regarding Tom Brady and the Patriots’ offense.

Patriots won by less than a touchdown during their 1st meeting and there was not a passing touchdown for neither team.  Brady threw 1 interception, while Allen threw 3 interceptions that game, this game paints the picture of a defensive game.  No matter how good the defenses both Brady and Allen will be familiar with schemes and game plans given the offense the advantage, in theory.

This either will be the best or the worse game played this week.

Pick: Bills

Rams @ 49ers

The Rams are pretty much out of the playoffs because seriously there is just too much that has to happen for them to sneak in.  On the other side the 49ers need to focus on next weeks game vs the Seahawks, who is one of their 3 losses.

Pick: 49ers by a lot.
